On September 19, 2022, the IP-Day took place at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria. The event was once again dedicated to the latest trends and developments regarding intellectual property law. The conference addresses the Austrian scientific and practice community in the field of IP Law.
The DDM4SME project coordinator from University for Continuing Education Krems, Prof. Clemens Appl, took the opportunity to present the ongoing project in the course of the conference.
The audience got an update of the current state of the project and was introduced to the reasons, why a new LLM program dedicated to Data Economy Law is important for the economic area of Europe. Additionally, the different intellectual outputs were presented. After receiving thisoverview of the project , the audience was also informed about the successfully finished event “DDM4SME Summer School on Data Economy Law“. The Summer School was structured in a blended learning design, offering two remote weeks with self-learning content and one on-site week for students enrolled at the partner universities in Reichenau an der Rax/Austria.
With a strong connection to the DDM4SME project, Prof. Clemens Appl provided in course of the IP Day 2022 a presentation covering the current legal issues regarding the Digital Service Act and Digital Market Act, their relation to each other and their future impact to European businesses. The IP-Day 2022 offered the DDM4SME the opportunity to exchange ideas with other experts in the field of IP-law and collect important feedback from interested potential students.
