the end of the DDM4SME Summer School 2022. On the last day of our educational program the roles were swapped. Now it was time for the participants to show their strength and know-how by presenting legal cases in front of the other students and a committee of lecturers.
Our fourth and last day of lectures added a little twist to the academic program of this final week of the DDM4SME Summer School 2022. While the last days focused on current legal issues in the digital economy, today Prof Austė Kiškienė, rector of KSU Vilnius and Prof Mindaugas Kiškis, also affiliated with KSU, focused their lectures more on the management related issues. This emphasize the approach of the DDM4SME project that it is of high relevance that legal education in the digital age must also lead to the understanding of respective business strategies.
During our third day, transnational business law was the subject of interest. The day started with a remote lecture by Prof Gabriel Lentner from University of Krems covering current issues in the field of international dispute resolution. The participants were introduced to new EU legislation and the lecturer offered insights into alternatives to traditional litigation. …
Our second day focused on various aspects of data protection and cybersecurity. Don Ferguson, affiliated with the University of Göttingen, delivered to the participants first-hand, the main legal ways how to prevent cybersecurity incidents in an international organization. Prof Zsolt Balogh from Corvinus University of Budapest followed on this with an in-depth explanation how advanced data mining my conflict with GDPR regulations. The final of this very practice-oriented day was a discussion loaded presentation from Don Ferguson on how to negotiate cybersecurity terms in contracts.
